Our story
When Fauzia struggled at her corporate job, Grandma Ruby Richards inspired Fauzia to try her hand at vending. Grandma taught Fauzia how to cook and stood beside her as she sold codfish cake and plantains at street festivals around Harlem.
Everything on the daily menu is Fauzia's own creations. From the Jerk Seasoning that's used for our famous Jerk Chicken to the many vegetable combinations. "When I am in the kitchen it feels like I am a scientist in my own lab."
After 28 years of cooking, Fauzia passed on the family recipes and cast iron pots to her daughter, Fauzia Aminah.
At Fauzia's, we serve a unique blend of Jamaican fusion cuisine that represents our family's Jamaican heritage and our New York upbringing. Our menu is packed with flavor -- from our signature jerk chicken gyro to our mouth-watering vegan dishes. Come and experience the taste of Jamaica in the heart of New York City.
